We hit an important milestone this week: the number of vaccinations administered to residents across north Wales by Betsi Cadwaladr (32,264) has passed the number of confirmed cases here (27,934) since the start of the pandemic.
This is very welcome news! Across the whole of the UK, 1 in 10 adults have now received the vaccine.
In North Wales most of the vaccines will end up being delivered through GPs - because we are so rural. So I have spoken with GPs over the last week about arrangements. They have all been eager and willing to play their part, realistic about the challenges of handling vaccines - but absolutely focused on making sure their patients get the vaccine.
I've also had the letter here at home that Betsi Cadwaladr has sent out to all residents.
But I have also started to read stories circulating like "There's a shortage" or "There's a problem" (or even one in England about vaccines being diverted to other parts!)
Mostly these are only half the story (or just an eye-catching headline). I know these can be worrying to many older residents and their families.
Here in Aberconwy I'm assured by Betsi Cadwaladr that their plans are in place to reach the target of vaccinating Groups 1-4 by mid February.
So if you hear that someone a bit younger than you has been vaccinated before you. Or if you hear that another part of your town (or north Wales!) has got it before you. Or if you thought you were getting it through your GP but you have now been asked to go a vaccination centre. Or even if your slot has changed.
Don't worry. There is enough vaccine to get Groups 1-4 vaccinated by mid February.
The details may change. Things happen. But there are hundreds of people across North Wales working hard to make sure you get yours.
Stay safe - and if you can, enjoy the snow!
Rydym wedi cyrraedd carreg filltir bwysig yr wythnos hon: mae nifer y brechiadau sydd wedi’u rhoi i drigolion ar draws gogledd Cymru gan Betsi Cadwaladr (32,264) wedi pasio nifer yr achosion a gadarnhawyd yma (27,934) ers dechrau’r pandemig.
Mae hwn yn newyddion i’w groesawu! Ar draws y DU, mae 1 ym mhob 10 oedolyn bellach wedi derbyn y brechlyn.
Yng Ngogledd Cymru bydd y rhan fwyaf o'r brechlynnau yn cael eu danfon drwy feddygon teulu - oherwydd ein bod mor wledig. Felly rwyf wedi siarad â meddygon teulu dros yr wythnos ddiwethaf am y trefniadau. Maen nhw i gyd wedi bod yn awyddus ac yn barod i chwarae eu rhan, yn realistig ynglŷn â’r heriau o drin brechlynnau - ond wedi canolbwyntio'n llwyr ar sicrhau bod eu cleifion yn cael y brechlyn.
Rwyf hefyd wedi derbyn y llythyr gartref y mae Betsi Cadwaladr wedi’i anfon at yr holl drigolion.
Ond rwyf hefyd wedi dechrau darllen straeon fel “Mae prinder” neu “Mae ‘na broblem” (neu hyd yn oed un yn Lloegr ynglŷn â brechlynnau'n cael eu dargyfeirio i rannau eraill!)
Gan fwyaf, dim ond hanner y stori yw hyn (neu benawdau i dynnu sylw). Rwy'n gwybod y gall y rhain beri pryder i nifer o drigolion hŷn a'u teuluoedd.
Yma yn Aberconwy, rwyf wedi cael sicrwydd gan Betsi Cadwaladr bod eu cynlluniau yn eu lle i gyrraedd y targed o frechu Grwpiau 1-4 erbyn canol Chwefror.
Felly os clywch chi fod rhywun ychydig yn iau na chi wedi cael y brechlyn. Neu os ydych chi'n clywed bod rhan arall o'ch tref (neu ogledd Cymru!) wedi ei gael o'ch blaen. Neu os oeddech chi'n meddwl eich bod chi'n ei gael drwy eich meddyg teulu ond y gofynnwyd i chi nawr fynd i ganolfan frechu. Neu hyd yn oed os yw eich slot wedi newid.
Peidiwch â phoeni. Mae digon o frechlynnau i frechu Grwpiau 1-4 erbyn canol Chwefror.
Gall y manylion newid. Mae pethau’n digwydd. Ond mae cannoedd o bobl ar draws Gogledd Cymru yn gweithio’n galed i sicrhau eich bod yn cael eich brechlyn.
Cadwch yn ddiogel – ac os gallwch chi, mwynhewch yr eira!
