Aberconwy MP Robin Millar has launched a competition to find Aberconwy’s favourite pubs.
The competition is open until June 10th and pub goers can vote for their favourite pubs in several categories including ‘Best community supporting pub’ and ‘Best dog-friendly pub.’ You can vote online at www.robin-millar.org.uk/pubs
Launching the competition at the Llandudno’s Gwesty Links Hotel on Saturday, Robin said:
“Aberconwy is home to a seemingly countless number of pubs. They are part of what makes this such a special place to live and a reason why hundreds of thousands of people visit us every year from the UK and from around the world.
“Pubs make an invaluable contribution to our local communities and to our local economy. They provide jobs, they often provide a sense of community and they support our local farmers and producers by selling our local lamb, beef and drinks which can compete with the best in the world.”
Continuing, Robin said:
“Supporting businesses and strengthening communities are important parts of Our Plan for Aberconwy and I have been working hard in Parliament to support our pubs in any way that I can. I am Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Beer, I have campaigned for Beer Duty Relief to apply to the smaller kegs that are often used by local microbreweries and I pressed the Government to provide financial support with energy bills through the Energy Bill Relief Scheme.”
Robin concluded by saying:
“I want to highlight the contribution made by so many of Aberconwy’s pubs and especially those that go the extra mile for their communities and their patrons. I hope that as many people as possible will spare a couple of minutes to vote for their best pubs at robin-millar.org.uk/pubs
“I am looking forward to hearing your recommendations and I will certainly enjoy discovering and visiting those pubs that you rate highly.”
