Throughout the Autumn, Aberconwy MP Robin Millar has hosted drop in events in Llandudno and Llandairfechan during which people who are concerned about paying winter bills could obtain free advice and support from a range of local organisations.
Following positive feedback from these events, Robin is hosting a similar drop in event in Conwy’s St Mary’s Church Hall on Friday 2nd December between 10:15 and 13:30. Admission is free, all are welcome and refreshments will be provided.
Speaking about the event, Robin said: “I know how concerned so many residents and businesses throughout Aberconwy are about the cost of living and spiralling energy bills. I have taken these concerns directly to UK Government ministers and I welcome the Energy Price Guarantee scheme, unveiled by the Government in September, which means that a typical household will pay no more than £2,500 this winter. However, I know that many people are still very worried about the winter ahead and that is why I felt it was important to host this event in Conwy, the third of a series of events throughout Aberconwy.”
Continuing, Robin said: “The Energy Price Guarantee is in addition to the Energy Bills Support Scheme which was announced in May which entitles all households throughout the UK to £400 off energy bills from last month. This automatic, non-repayable discount will be applied in six instalments between October 2022 and March 2023 to help households through winter. There is no need to apply for the scheme and you will not be asked for your bank details.”
Concluding, Robin said: “I have created a bi-lingual cost-of-living online hub on my website which contains information about UK Government, Welsh Government and Council support that is available. It also includes links to all of the organisations that were in attendance at the last drop in event and it can be accessed from the homepage of my website at robin-millar.co.uk . As always, please do not hesitate to contact me at robin.millar.mp@parliament.uk if you require any further help or assistance.
AS Aberconwy i gynnal digwyddiad yng Nghonwy i drigolion sy'n Bryderus am y Gaeaf
Drwy gydol yr Hydref, cynhaliodd AS Aberconwy, Robin Millar, ddigwyddiadau galw heibio yn Llandudno a Llanfairfechan lle gallai pobl oedd yn pryderu am dalu biliau'r gaeaf gael cyngor a chymorth am ddim gan amrywiaeth o sefydliadau lleol.
Yn dilyn adborth cadarnhaol o'r digwyddiadau hyn, mae Robin yn cynnal digwyddiad galw heibio tebyg yn Neuadd Eglwys y Santes Fair, Conwy ddydd Gwener 2il Rhagfyr rhwng 10:15 a 13:30. Does dim cost mynediad. Croeso i bawb a darperir lluniaeth ysgafn.
Yn siarad am y digwyddiad, dywedodd Robin: “Rwy’n gwybod bod llawer o drigolion a busnesau ledled Aberconwy yn bryderus iawn am gostau byw a biliau ynni cynyddol. Rwyf wedi rhannu'r pryderon hyn yn uniongyrchol â gweinidogion Llywodraeth y DU a chroesawaf y cynllun Gwarant Pris Ynni, a lansiodd y Llywodraeth ym mis Medi, sy’n golygu na fydd aelwyd arferol yn talu mwy na £2,500 y gaeaf hwn. Fodd bynnag, gwn fod llawer o bobl yn dal i fod yn bryderus iawn am y gaeaf sydd ar ein gwarthaf a dyna pam yr oeddwn yn teimlo ei bod yn bwysig cynnal y digwyddiad hwn yng Nghonwy, y trydydd mewn cyfres o ddigwyddiadau ledled Aberconwy.”
Aeth Robin ymlaen i egluro: “Mae’r Gwarant Pris Ynni yn ogystal â'r Cynllun Cymorth Biliau Ynni a gyhoeddwyd ym mis Mai sy’n rhoi’r hawl i bob cartref ledled y DU gael £400 wedi’i dynnu oddi ar eu biliau ynni o fis diwethaf. Bydd y gostyngiad awtomatig hwn, nad yw’n ad-daladwy, yn cael ei gymhwyso mewn chwe rhandaliad rhwng Hydref 2022 a Mawrth 2023 i helpu aelwydydd dros y gaeaf. Nid oes angen gwneud cais am y cynllun ac ni ofynnir i chi am eich manylion banc.”
Wrth gloi, dywedodd Robin: “Rwyf wedi creu hwb costau byw dwyieithog ar-lein ar fy ngwefan sy’n cynnwys gwybodaeth am y cymorth sydd ar gael gan Lywodraeth y DU, Llywodraeth Cymru a’r Cyngor. Mae hefyd yn cynnwys dolenni i bob un o’r sefydliadau a oedd yn bresennol yn y digwyddiad galw heibio diwethaf a gellir mynd ato ar hafan fy ngwefan – www.robin-millar.co.uk. Fel bob amser, mae croeso i chi anfon e-bost ata i - robin.millar.mp@parliament.uk os oes angen unrhyw help neu gymorth pellach arnoch.
