On 18th October Robin Millar will be launching his largest constituency wise survey on Energy Costs in Aberconwy for businesses and domestic users.
Each registered business in Aberconwy will receive a copy of the survey by post but individual traders, partnerships and non-registered businesses are urged to go online to robin-millar.org.uk/energysurvey and complete a survey online. Alternatively, they can email robin.millar.mp@parliament.uk and a survey can be mailed to them.
All constituents who are concerned about their energy prices are also asked to participate and fill in the domestic energy survey online or again, request a paper copy.
Robin commented,
“In September this year, I called a debate in Parliament to consider the energy supply market and the three major concerns that had been brought to me by tourism and hospitality businesses. These were pricing, the behaviours and practices of non-domestic energy providers, and thirdly the question of whether this part of the market now operates as a quasi-monopoly?”
Robin continued,
“The debate was widely reported both locally and nationally, and since then I have heard from businesses in many other sectors – retail, legal, manufacturing, sole traders to name but a few.
My concerns include standing charges in North Wales which appear to be the highest in the UK. I also continue to be concerned about the choice businesses have of providers of products.”
In conclusion, Robin explained the purposes of the survey and how important it will be to move the matter forward.
“To help me take this forward I would like to create an individual Aberconwy case base of evidence. By filling in the domestic and non-domestic surveys you will be helping me do this and I thank you in advance.”
