Yesterday, the final sitting day of Parliament before the summer recess, Robin spoke during the second annual Sir David Amess summer adjournment debate to offer a principled defence of the Union of the United Kingdom
Dismissing attempts to reduce to the Union to simple fiscal transfers or legal contracts, Robin instead advocated a vision of the United Kingdom as a shared covenant; framing Britishness in terms of collective experiences, challenges, and opportunities.
Held named in honour of the late Sir David Amess MP, the summer adjournment debate offers Members freedom to raise and debate topics which might not otherwise receive Parliamentary attention.
