Today I visited The Junction Bookshop in Llandudno Junction where I met Gerry and Glenda who, like me, are real book enthusiasts. The shop is filled with antiquarian and second-hand Books, as well as Victorian maps, & prints.
This shop is also a bit of a love story – as Gerry and Glenda first met at a book fair and celebrate their silver wedding anniversary later this year. Gerry his first antiquarian bookshop in 1964, and also founded the Provincial Booksellers Fairs in London in 1972. (Now well known as the PBFA.) Glenda opened her first book shop in Bath in 1971 specialising in collectable children’s books.
So why North Wales? Their daughter studied at Bangor University and in common with many of us they fell in love with the mountains and the beautiful scenery that Aberconwy has! This was due to be a retirement move but they could not keep away from the antiquarian book industry! So in 2009 the opened they opened The Junction Book Shop and the rest is history.
As I have mentioned previously, I love to read. In fact, I will often read multiple books at one time. I have a particular interest in political thinkers and philosophers (that might have something to do with the job) and I was able to explore the back room of this book shop to see many vintage philosophy books for myself.
Thank you to Gerry and Glenda for showing me around. I was truly fascinated by your shop and I will be sure to visit in the future. If you want to read about what the shop has to offer, or possibly take a trip yourself, I have linked their Facebook page below.

After visiting Hinton’s book shop in Conwy a few weeks ago, followed by The Junction book shop today, I’m thinking a tour of the bookshops and bakeries within Aberconwy sounds like a brilliant idea!
